We built our building in 1991 to be as energy and water efficient as possible. We have endeavored since that time to recycle as much as we could and only in the past few years have we come to realize that we have been a part of the green revolution for two decades. We never really saw our actions as part of a competition, but part of a lifestyle that would some day benefit our planet, our city and our three children. We hope you share our goals.

Our building’s masonry block walls are filled for greater heat retention
We cut our own grass, long and infrequently to save water
Grass clippings are mulched and left on the ground
All scrap metals are recycled, not sent to the landfill
Used oil filters are drained and the steel is recycled
All paper, cardboard, paperboard, plastic and glass is recycled
Paper is printed on both sides whenever possible
Thermostats are set to 80 in the summer, and 68 in winter
Shop temperatures are set at 55 in winter
The lawn is watered by sprinkler system, at night, and adjusted daily as needed
Antifreeze and all waste oils are recycled
All Freon, R12 and 134a are recycled
Our trash is 2/3 recyclables exceeding pure trash 2 to 1
